Bathroom organization

Here are three steps to make your bathroom less cluttered!

Use a towel rack to hold headbands.

20140126-152731.jpg
I put my towel on another rack, and I used this one to store my headbands.

Use a shoe hanger behind your drawers.

20140126-152955.jpg
Velcro shoe storage containers on the back of a door for easy access.

Homemade necklace clips.

20140126-153248.jpg
Glue down clothespins to a piece of wood.

20140126-153319.jpg
Spray paint it and hang it to your wall. Now your necklaces aren’t tangled up, but are neatly displayed!

I hope this declutters your bathroom!
Sorry for the long wait between posts, we had some issues.

The Polyknot Hairstyle

Here is an easy updo I do when I don’t have that much time in the morning!
It is called the Polyknot! There are a bunch of variations to this style. Let’s start with the basics.

20140126-154059.jpg
Put your hair in a ponytail, and split it in half behind the headband. Tuck the ponytail in the gap behind the hairband and viola! Use this for untrue styles that I will show you!

Thanks!

Tissue Paper Flowers

How to make centerpiece flowers! Great for any party!
You will need
•Different Color Tissue Paper
•Tape
•Scissors

20140105-134610.jpg
Fan the tissue paper out like am accordion and tape in the middle

20140105-135005.jpg

20140105-135032.jpg
Cut the edges so they are either rounded or pointed. I chose pointed

20140105-135112.jpg
Fan it out one layer at a time

20140105-135403.jpg

20140105-135557.jpg
I’m using these for a centerpiece because they aren’t full enough to hang. More tissue paper makes it fuller so you can hang these from the ceiling. Hope this is helpful!

New Year, New Organization

Want to make this year more organized? Here are 5 ways to organize your events, plans, and notes all DIY. These are ways to use dry erase boards, magnets and every day objects into organization ways. 20131229-164006.jpg
Use a frame with decorative paper to make a dry erase board. This is similar to the DIY Christmas Countdown post. This is just a start. You can make a whole organization board with this dry erase frame. 20131229-164807.jpg Attach magnets to containers to hold dry erase markers or note papers. Magnet up notes and frames to keep it personalized. <a href="http:/20131229-165111.jpg
This one is a magnet board covered in fabric. I attached magnets to a notepad to keep notes such as grocery lists or reminders. Put a bow on a magnet to decorate it and spice it up. 20131229-165341.jpg
Make a calendar with paint swatches glued inside a room to go with any room colors. This is also a great gift.

20131229-165717.jpg
This one was more complicated, but is really fun to make. Get a cookie sheet and paint it. You can put decorative paper on the inside if you would like. Tie a ribbon on the top to hang it. Put fun magnets to hold up papers you need.
I hope these magnetic tips help you keep your life nice and neat!
Have a great 2014

Homemade Turtle Snacks

My family makes these every year for all of the holidays, I wanted to share my turtle recipe with you guys.

20131226-104050.jpg
You need
•Pretzels
•Rolos
•Pecans
First, lay out a tray of pretzels and put an unwrapped rolo on each one

Put these in the oven on 300 for 2-3 minutes. Watch them because you are just warming them up enough to make the rolo soft and gooey. You should be able to push in the rolo and for it to sink down. Right out of the oven, push in a pecan to each one. Let them cool & harden then put them on display.

These disappeared quick in our house!
I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and have a happy new year!!

Christmas Nails

Often when looking for Christmas nails on Pinterest you see the near impossible nail styles like this one here

20131222-131725.jpg
I could never do these on myself or on anyone! But I love nail art, so I found 8 possible, easy, Diy, designs to try. I have done some of these myself and will be trying out the others this season!

20131222-131928.jpg
With a thin brush you could do the snowflake, or go without it. The green and sparkle theme is really cool.

20131222-132049.jpg
You could do the snowflake accent with light pinks.

20131222-132119.jpg
Festive Stripes

20131222-132325.jpg
Or candy canes (This one might’ve been done with small pieces of tape, or just a really good painter)

20131222-132412.jpg
A holiday sparkle

20131222-132435.jpg
Or Santa clause ( I wouldn’t do the Santa clause because it would not turn out like that for me but if you want to, go for it! I’d probably just do the white & sparkle)

20131222-132537.jpg
I did do this tape Christmas tree. The first layer of paint needs a lot of time to dry before putting tape on it.

20131222-132634.jpg
If you enjoy the tape look, go a little advance with this tree

Anyone you choose, your nails will be ready for the holiday spirit!
All of these nail designs were found on Pinterest. If you want to contact the original person, email us at chevronchicblog@yahoo.com
Enjoy your Christmas break!!!

Unlimited iPhone Cases

Here is how to get unlimited personalized iPhone cases!

20131215-134143.jpg
At Joanns Craft store I found a clear phone case with holiday background papers for $3. I decided to use this to make some more cases other than the papers it came with. Choose a piece of decorative paper to start with.

20131215-134321.jpg
Trace the paper it came with onto the decorative paper and cut it out.

20131215-134505.jpg
Now you have an iPhone case!

20131215-134610.jpg
You can have as many as you want how ever you want!

DIY Photography Name art

Give a gift that’s crafty, thoughtful, and inexpensive this season with your own “Name spelled out in pictures”

20131208-182721.jpg
Typically, these cost a lot to make. But why not do-it-yourself?

One day I went around and took pictures for my friend Victoria. I got them printed and taped them to a piece of wood. It didn’t take long and it ended up looking great! I wrapped it with some burlap to make it look vintage, and she adored it:)

20131208-182937.jpg
This is a great gift for someone who has everything. You could also do words in your own home like “Love” or “Hope”
